The thickness of the aluminium composite backing is 1/8 inch (3 mm) and the copper backsplash is 1/4 inch (6mm), similar to regular tiles. HAND-HAMMERED I am a coppersmith. My art is traditional copper craftsmanship. My technique is hand-hammering with chisels and anvils. My hand-hammering method not only adds unique touch and aesthetics to the copper backsplash, but also increases its durability.
